Basic Truth: Jesus wants to be my friend forever.
Key Question: Who is your friend?
Bottom Line: Jesus is my good friend.
Memory Verse: “A friend loves at all times.” - Proverbs 17:17 (NIV)

This week's Bible story is found in John 14:1-4.  Jesus loves us so much that He wants to spend eternity with us.  He is preparing a place for us to live with Him forever.  This week spend some time praying with your child thanking Jesus for being our good friend and for coming back just as He promised He would.

Virtue: Friendship—spending time with someone you trust and enjoy.
Memory Verse: “A friend loves at all times. He is there to help when trouble comes.” - Proverbs 17:17 (NIrV)
Bible Story: Jesus returns to Heaven (Acts 1:3, 8-11 and Matthew 28:16-20).
Bottom Line: A true friend will always be your friend.

This weekend in Beach House we wrapped up this concept of friendship with Jesus on a hillside two thousand years ago. He is with the disciples He has spent His entire ministry with and as He stands with them that day He reminds them of how their life is about to drastically change. He tells them about the mission they are called to carry out. And just to put a cap on everything that happened in their relationship for the past three years He tells them, “You can be sure that I am always with you, to the very end.”  That is what a true friend does. A true friend is the kind of friend that will be with you forever. When Jesus left the Earth and ascended into Heaven He left with us the power to be the same kind of friend to others as He was to His disciples. There is a different kind of friendship that happens between Christians because they know Christ and have the Spirit of God in their life.
