What We Learned About This Weekend...March 19/20, 2011

Critter Cove and Short Boarders
Birth - Kindergarten

Four men carry a paralyzed man to Jesus. There are so many people they cannot get to Jesus, so they lower him through the roof on a mat. Jesus heals the man and tells him to take his mat and go home. As you bathe your child, ask him to point to his eyes, ears, mouth, feet, legs, arms, and so on. When you are finished naming several parts of the body, tell your child that Jesus helps people to see with their eyes, hear with their ears, talk with their mouth, and walk with their legs. Jesus can do anything!

Courage is being brave enough to do what you should do even when you’re afraid. Sometimes doing what you should means speaking up for what’s right. There’s not a whole lot that’s scarier for adults, much less kids. But one person’s courage can make a difference. Just look at Esther. God bolstered her courage and saved a whole bunch of people through her timely words. God wants us to speak up for what’s right, too, and He’ll give us the courage to do it. Kids need to discover that God may have chosen THEM to speak up in a situation and that if they do, it can have a huge effect on others.
