Get It While It's Hot: The Low-Down of What Kids Heard This Weekend

Critter Cove and Short Boarders
Birth - Kindergarten

1 Samuel 3:1-10, 19
Samuel hears a voice calling his name. He things it is Eli the priest but learned that it is actually God calling to tell Samuel that He has a plan for his life. To help your kids understand this lesson, pull out the paints and a small mirror (or set up the paints in the bathroom). Have your preschooler paint a self-portrait being sure to include all the features that make him special. What color are his eyes? What color is his hair? God made each and every special feature. When he's done, hang the portrait on the fridge so he can remember that God made him special.

This past weekend we did things a little bit different. Instead of organizing things around a biblical virtue, we focused on one of 5 Faith Skills: that of personalizing Scripture—learning how to memorize and apply God’s Word. God tells us in 2 Timothy 3:16-17 that all Scripture is God-breathed. It’s inspired by Him, comes from Him, and is designed to teach us, correct us, and train us to do those good things He’s got planned for us to do. Learning what God says will help us keep doing what we should—a great way to finish a month-long look at determination.
