• Jesus Film

1) Pray for the soccer tournament that will be running most of the day. Pray for stamina for the team members participating and also for those who will be sharing the gospel during halftime breaks. Pray too for a positive experience for those teams in the area, that this ministry event will heighten Pastor Ronald’s presence in the community.

2)  Pray for Charles and his team who will be drilling two new wells at the village center in Kanjera. Pray that he finds a good water source and that the water will be sweet and clean for the people in the village.  Thank you HDC for making these well possible through your gifts.

One Big Event

• Bright Vision orphanage

Pray for safe travel out to Bright Vision orphanage in the remote village of Chamendenga. Pray also for the VBS and Sports clinic we will be hosting for an estimated 600-700 children. Due to famine conditions in Malawi, we have also been asked to help cook and serve a meal to these kids. In the afternoon we will visit a maize farming project we have supported on past trips and see how irrigation canals can be improved and leveraged.

Pray for Malawi | Day 3

Three Big Events

• Spiritual Emphasis Week at the African Bible College continues
  - Kurt and Tim teaching 6 messages from the book of Acts
  - Kurt and Tim teaching the Oikos Seminar to college Seniors and graduates.

• VBS / Sports Camp at the African Bible College continues
• Prison Ministry

1)  Pray for the college chapel services:  Tim and Kurt teaching from the book of Acts and both engaged with training ABC seniors about the vital importance of Oikos.

2)  Pray for our ministry to local children coming from surrounding areas to attend a VBS / Sports camp. Today we will be inviting these kids to start a relationship with God. Please pray today that children might come to know Jesus Christ and place their hope in Him and that we can build bridges to connect them to local Malawians who can help them grow.

3)  Pray for our trip out to Maula Prison: When Maula prison was first constructed more than 50 years ago, the facility was designed to hold just 800 inmates (both men and women). But in the years since then, the prison population has exploded. Today, Maula houses 2,650 inmates — many of them migrants, detained in harsh and unsanitary conditions. Please pray as our HDC ladies ministers to the women’s section and our men serve on the men’s section of the prison. We will be sharing our testimonies, teaching and worshipping with the inmates and also providing important medical and health supplies as well.

Team Malawi

2016 Team Malawi

2016 Team Malawi

HDC has invested in the country of Malawi for nearly a decade. Years ago, through the generosity of the HDC family, we gave tens of thousands of dollars to invest in the needs of the Malawian people. Ever since, we have sent teams from our church to strengthen the people of Malawi for the sake of the gospel. We are sending another team this month! We would greatly appreciate your partnership with us through prayer. Each day, our trip's itinerary will be posted here so you can pray for the work God is doing in Malawi.

Oikos hits Malawi

Here is a picture of Ron who is just months away from serving as a pastor in Malawi. He took part in an Oikos workshop at the Africa Bible College campus years ago. He is excited that Pastor Tom's Oikos book is now available in his own Chichewan language. We also distributed 100 copies of the book to this year's senior class at ABC after finishing our seminar.

8 - 15 more reasons Oikos works worldwide!

Live Love and beyond

What an amazing day! After another great chapel time with the college students, our teams spread out across the campus teaching children at the Academy, working in the medical center, building a new library and teaching an Oikos Seminar.

In the afternoon we headed out to Live Love ministry about 30 minutes away from the college. When we drove up we were greeted by well hundreds of people. Our medical team of LeAyn, Sharon, Mary and Megan spent 5 hours caring for over 225 patients, dealing mostly with malaria cases and families. Wendi, Matt, Scott and Kurt used those same 5 hours visiting the homes of 10 widows, encouraging them with prayers, songs, conversation and also with gifts of blankets, food and mosquito nets. The last group of Alisha, Alyssa, Brandon and Eric were crazy busy with hundreds of kids playing soccer, painting faces, playing games and sharing Bible stories.

Late into the evening we spent time with 75 missionary and local students teaching their youth group and singing worship songs with them. It was a very long day...but so meaningful. Please keep praying for strength and energy to embrace the next day's challenges. Thanks!
