HDC Victorville | Christmas Baptisms

Jordan Schneider

I learned about God from the Bible, my mom and dad, Sunday school, and the good news club at my school. I have learned that loving God is the most important thing I can do with my life and that I should always strive to share God’s love with others.  My parents taught me that Jesus died for our sins and that we can choose to accept His gift of salvation.

When I was almost 6 years old, I attended Christmas Eve service with my family at HDC. At the service, the pastor talked a lot about Jesus and how everyone is a sinner and needs forgiveness and to do that we need to accept Jesus into our hearts. I went home from church and that night, before bed, I had a lot of questions and wanted to understand why Jesus died for us and how to accept him into my life. My mom helped me understand that Jesus died on the cross to save me because God loves me so much.  At that moment, I knew I believed in God and needed to be forgiven and accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior. My mom led me in a prayer where I told God that I knew I was a sinner and that I believed in God and that Jesus died on the cross and rose again and I chose to accept Jesus into my heart and I want to follow him with my life.

Although I still make mistakes sometimes, I know that I am forgiven and loved by God. I try to do better every day by reading and following the Bible and praying. Now I am excited to do my best to show God’s love to everyone around me.
