I grew up in a Christian home, we would go to church and pray before every meal, so from a young age I knew who Jesus was and what He did for me. I never truly placed my faith or trusted in God when I was young because I believed that by me knowing about Him and going to church was "good enough", going to church and praying was more of a routine than a relationship. After going through some tough times did I realize that I needed to truly place my faith in Jesus, while in 6th grade I fully asked Jesus to be my Savior. I had still kept the routine mentality and felt nothing because I wasn't intentionally growing my relationship with Him. I had seen my older sister's strong relationship with God while I was in middle school, and there is when I decided that I needed to not only believe that Jesus was my Savior but that I needed to follow Him and start living my life for Him. Soon after, I became involved in Student Leadership, went to summer camp, became serving in the Children's Ministry and went on my first mission trip to Wahiawa, HI in 2010 and again in 2011. Now that I am fully living my life for Christ I constantly see His joy and peace, when in troubling situations I know that God is bigger that everything else and I have nothing to fear. Because of His great love for me, it is my desire to serve Him and show others what he has done for me.
