VV Baptism Testimonies

Kirk Hough

In 1991 a divorce had left me alone and a single dad of two kids under three years old.  This was very hard for me because I had no experience with divorce like a lot of people. I knew growing up did. My mom and dad were married my whole life. I did not know how to be divorced.

I had just started my own electrical contracting business, economy was crashing and my house was in foreclosure.  Friends realized what I was going through and drug me to HDC. It was like Pastor Tom was talking about my life. I was 31 years old and I did not know that Christ had died on the cross for my sins.

Life was tough but normal to me. I work hard and money was hard. Life dealt me one challenge after another and I dealt with it. In 1992 friends gave me advice.  Let go and let God and pray about it. It’s not a magic cure but it took a while before I got IT.  It was then I accepted Christ in my heart.

I still work hard, money is still hard, and life’s challenges still come at me.

The difference is it’s not me going through it alone.  Now I am being led through it. God has blessed me with a wonderful wife of almost 16 years and two beautiful daughters. I could not imagine my life with out Christ in it.   I still work hard, money is still hard, and life’s challenges still come at me.
