VV Baptism Testimonies

Sierra Oyler

Ever since I was little, I have always had a strong relationship with God. I know that He is always there for me even if I think I do not need him. But in reality, we will always need the Lord and He will always be there for us no matter what. I have wanted to get baptized for a while now because for me it is the next step in my faith. I have accepted Christ into my heart and I want to live for Him every second of every day. There was a time a few years back when my neighbor died and it really affected me. He was like a grandpa to me and was there for me throughout the years he was alive. When he lived across from my house I would go sit with him and we would tell each other stories and he would talk about how much he had been through. He lost all of his family, including his wife and kids and grandchildren. Though he went through so much pain and heartbreak, I can’t even begin to describe how incredible this man was. He taught me valuable lessons that I will cherish for the rest of my life. God put this man in my life to point me back to Him.  The most important thing that this man taught me was about the love that he had for the Lord. I believe that everything happens for a reason and at this moment I know that God is with me and He always will be. Fear should not hold you back from doing anything in your life, especially the things you love. Because of that, I decided that it was time for me to take the next step and follow Christ. I made my way to church camp and it changed me. God is showing me the way to all that he has to offer. I am ready to learn all that there is about being a Christian and how it all happens. It’s my time to go find myself and become the person I am supposed to be. Here is the start, my first of many steps will begin with getting baptized.
