I was baptized and raised as a baby within the catholic church. I stopped attending sometime in High School when school activities and sports seemed more important. I wondered away form from faith many times. When I got married and moved to Colorado Springs where my husband was stationed in the Army, I began attending Pikes Peak Christian Community Church. I met many women in the Military Ministry. They encouraged me to come every weekend. About a year after attending the church, my husband filed for divorce. I then found out I was pregnant. I began having doubt in my faith. Why would God allow this to happen? When I can home to Apple Valley where my parents live, I was I was too embarrassed to tell my friends here that I was getting divorced and began to hide from my faith. My neighbors, Orlando and Jen Acevedo asked if I would like to come to church with them. Since then I have been growing with HDC. Many have helped me rediscover this faith. I found a great small group and have been volunteering at the Apple Valley Campus. I had my daughter dedicated to make a commitment to God and myself to follow Jesus.
