VV Baptism Testimonies

Raul Ochoa

Before I took Jesus into my heart my life had no sense of direction and I had little to no faith in all aspects of life.  My wife and I fell into lots of money problems and lost our house, cars and all the credit we had. During this period of my life I felt lost, confused and really afraid. After losing almost everything we had, it felt like there was no light at the end of the tunnel.

After a few months I realized that my life needed to change and decided it was time to start attending church.  My family and I committed to start coming to HDC for the 11am service on Sundays. It was hard for me in the beginning because I love watching NFL football on Sundays and committing to church did not work with my football schedule.

Once my family and I started to attend church every Sunday I quickly started to understand the importance of getting to know Jesus Christ and why he died on the cross for us.  Soon after in one of the services I finally understood the A.B.C. and that is when God open my heart and allowed me to take Jesus in to my heart.

Having Jesus in my life means A LOT for me and my family. Our lives have changed so much.  I am learning to be a better person, a better husband, a better son and a better brother.  I am less afraid of all the challenges life might bring to us in the future.  I am blessed to know that Jesus will always have my back no matter what.

I do believe that is because of Jesus Christ I am alive and I can only hope that I can follow on his footsteps until it’s time for me to be by his side.
