I have been attending HDC for as long as I can remember. My family and I started attending when I was two years old. In the beginning I wasn't really at church for God. I was there so that my parents could go to church and learn about God. I didn’t really get truly spiritually involved until this summer. While attending 7th grade summer camp, I felt that I reached a turning point in my life with God. I decided to get more involved with the church. Ricky Hemme, the pastor at camp, really inspired me with his message. I started memorizing bible verses from John chapter 15 and later going on trips with the church. I now also attend the JR. High bible study on Tuesday nights.
Jesus changed my heart and my life and I felt peace knowing that he was leading me. He has been working within me to make me a better person. I want to be baptized because I feel that it’s a command from God that I need to follow. I want to publicly proclaim that I have accepted the Lord as my savior. I want everyone to know that I am a follower of God. I believe that baptism symbolizes Jesus dying on the cross, his burial, and his resurrection. I want to take the next step in my walk with Christ and show everyone that I love Jesus.
