VV Baptism Testimonies

Irma Carpenter

I grew up as a Catholic; however, I always had questions about different things and why we did them. I remember getting in trouble with the priest for asking too many questions.

When I was 18 my boyfriend and his family took me to church and that’s when I learned who Jesus really was and what he had done for me. They did an altar call and I accepted Jesus as my Lord and savior.

A year later my boyfriend passed away from cancer. Being a new Christian I could not understand why God could take someone so young. So I stopped going to church and years went by. It wasn't until I was going to have my first child, and the doctors came and told me that he might not make it, that I reached out to God again. That's when I prayed and asked God to save his life. The Lord answered my prayer and my son was born 1lbs. 12 oz. He is now 18 and going to college.

Through my divorce and other very hard situations in my life, the Lord has walked by my side and held me up when I needed him the most. Life my not be perfect, but if you believe in the Lord Jesus, he will walk with you through anything.

I would like to get baptized to show others that I believe that Jesus died on the cross for my sins.
